Enchants of the Burning Crusader!

Are you getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome tanking giant dragons and undead liches? Are your wrist braces and splint not holding up under your intensive repetitive strain injuries? Are you paying through your nose for repair fees? What you require are new ergonomically designed enchants to ease your daily load!

Enchant Bracer- Major Defense

While every raiding tank is dishing it out with Major Stamina on their Bracers of Dalaran parapets (or thrusting bands), there’s another business opportunity in a less well known bracer enchant:

[Enchant Bracer - Major Defense] +12 def rating

While in the end game, 40 stamina on your bracers is quite a bit better than 12 defense rating, there are several fields in which this Burning Crusade enchant is advantageous.

For one, obtaining defense rating is notoriously difficult for a pre-raiding death knight, due to their inability to wield a shield. A sizable portion of the level 80s I have observed buying my scrolls are death knights. It helps too for newly 80 tanks trying to reach the defense cap in lieu of the limited gear available at the beginning. In these cases, reaching def-cap is far more important than an extra 40 stamina, which makes them eager purchasers for your enchanted vellum.

Another market (albeit smaller) that could possibly purchase Major Defense is the 30-39 twink bracket, 12 defense rating translates to about 10-15 defense skill at those levels. It provides decent effective mitigation, a nice addition for warsong gulch flag-runners.

The best thing about all these however, is how cheaply this enchant can be created for.

Required mats:
10 [Arcane Dust] = 1g x 10 = 10gold
2 [Small Prismatic Shard] = 1g x 2 = 2gold
1 [Armor Vellum II] = 1 to 5 gold = 2.5 g average
Total: 14.5 gold

In contrast, [Enchant Bracer - Major Stamina] costs at the very least 100+ g to create on most servers, before the enchanter service charge markup, which ends up around 200 gold for the scrolls.

You can see why tanks might be inching towards the Major Defense scroll… Especially if they are replacing their wrist slot soon!

If you’re an enchanter who has this enchant, just whip up a few scrolls and list it on the AH for half the price of the Major Stamina scroll. If you sell it for 105 gold, you’ll net 85 gold profit returns on a 15 gold investment. If you feel frisky, you can even list it for the 60 gold region, and watch bucket-loads of it sell over the week. (Do not do this on low-medium pop servers though) Experiment and pick whichever strategy works best for you.

At the very least, its a great way to liquidate your outdated BC enchanting mats like [Arcane Dust], [Void Crystal], [Large Prismatic Shard], and [Small Prismatic Shard] sitting in your bank. ([Void Crystal] can be shattered to [Large Prismatic Shard], and [Large Prismatic Shard], to more [Small Prismatic Shard])

And if you’re itching to get started, you’ll be glad to know that its not a trainer learnt recipe which means less competition for you!

Just stop by the good ole Outlands and visit the Ethereum Nullifiers in Netherstorm. I’m sure one of them can be convinced to part with their recipes.

A few other BC enchants worth trying to Sell:

Boots – Cat’s Swiftness: 6 Agility + Run Speed, once Unholy Aura is taken out in 3.1, this will be /the best/ enchant for Melee DPS for raiding – it’s a Niche Market, but you should be able to get an arm and a leg for it.

Weapon – Potency: 20 Strength to Weapon is a /great/ Threat and Mitigation enchant for tanks, especially Paladins! Very popular on my server!

actually 20-29 twinks can put this on war rider bracers from the otto and falconcrest quest. thats only warriors and paladins, but they are probably the ones looking at this enchant

I might be wrong, but I thought defense is not used at all in PVP combat. is it ?

    Fiest:
Yep, you have good choices there in the other BC enchants. You might be interested in getting surefooted too, its a lesser version of icewalker that sells very well with twinks.

I chose major defense as the feature as it is an enchant recipe that is very easily accessible, being soloable :D

    Cossak:
You are probably correct about that, quite a bit of my buyouts come from lvl 77+ too though

    Gronyon:
Hmm, I believe its probably most effective a flag carrier in warsong gulch for twinks. Defense rating adds defense skill, which results in increased mitigation.

Although, I don’t really have a plate twink, so I base this on the level of the players who buyout my scrolls
