Market Watch: Eternal Earth or Everlasting Profit?

Eternal Earth

So this week I haven’t spent as much time directly in the market as I usually do, but I still wanted to get a post out for you guys. I’ve spent most of my week leveling up my alt priests enchanting to 350 for all of its disenchanting glory. It will probably come at no surprise that I, like many others, have converted my main source of income over to Jewelcrafting + Disenchanting. I was paying a good buddy of mine a weekly tip to DE my goods, but I got tired of the mail wait so I leveled it up myself. Found lots of good gold making ideas on the way, but that’s for a different post. This weeks topic is a topic I think a lot of us can understand, and that is [Eternal Earth]. With so many people jumping on the JC+DE bandwagon the price on  [Eternal Earth] has really risen. Though they are still a fairly common item, what you once could get for 6g you’re now paying closer to 10 or 11g. It may not sound like a lot, but when you are going through 50 stacks of [Saronite Ore] a day, the price of [Eternal Earth] really cuts into your profit. So, what do we, the entrepreneurs of World of Warcraft do? We network.

Now, as we know not everyone is taking advantage of the quickest way to make money in game. There are still tons of people farming mats everyday and these people are turning into my bread and butter. The biggest contributors to the [Eternal Earth] market are people who farm [Saronite Ore]. So not only can we get our [Eternal Earth] from them, but also our [Saronite Ore]. In your auction house look for [Saronite Ore] and you will see posts by two kinds of people. Those who are trying to manipulate the market, and those who are farmers. The farmers are usually easy to spot as they have real names. Not names like “Getmoney” “Mybanklulz” etc. Take a few days and look for who is posting on a daily basis. Another good way to find farmers is watching for them to advertise in trade chat. If you can’t find any in either of those two places, check your guild. There is always that one guy still farming for his epic flyer. One thing we know about people who farm for money is that they are usually impatient. They want their money now. They don’t want to list everything on the auction house and then wait an hour for the mail. Take advantage of this.

So contact these people and see what they are selling for. Tell them you’ll buy everything they can farm as soon as they farm it. Give them a price of about 19g for a stack of [Saronite Ore] and 7g for an [Eternal Earth]. Most people will jump at this as they don’t have to wait around for the auction house. Treat this like a business. The better you are to these people the more likely they will keep you as their main buyer. Tip them a little extra now and then. This will keep them loyal to you and away from your competitors. Oh, and even if you’re not using JC+DE right now you could still have suppliers and then mark up what you purchase for resell. It’s a win win either way.

So this week I want you to get out of the auction house and network. Find a few good suppliers and keep the money train rolling into town everyday.

Ya same here, but lately its hard to get a hold of them for less than 10g.

@Peke You know I figured something like that was going to be floating around and I even heard rumors but I could never find a confirmed item link. Probably because I didn’t look hard enough lol. But either way, that’s even better to know so I’ll keep stock piling.

Oops looks like they changed the mats. Oh well time to go shopping.

Wow I just realized they changed the materials. It looks like they do not require earth anymore, but are using shadow, fire, water now. I wonder if earth went up in price because of these recipes, now that they don’t need them anymore, will the price of earth fall back down to 5g?

As one of those who has farmed massive amounts of Saronite, I can state categorically that this approach would have worked with me. Being able to sell what you farm right away is a very attractive offer, especially since it saves AH costs.
