Cataclysm Beta: Engineering Only Gems/Sockets And ilevel 359 Goggles

Engineers in Cataclysm can look forward to new epic goggles also known as Killshades. The requirement to wear them is 525 skill (max profession skill in Cataclysm) and to be level 80. Now don’t overreact to the insane amount of stamina on these because you are comparing Cataclysm stamina to the current levels. Other Cataclysm epics have similar stamina bonuses as well. I mean, Cataclysm epic gems will give +100 stamina already. Hopefully Blizzard follows through with their idea of having crafted gear stay up to date by increasing stats after each new content patch. You can see what they look like through Wowhead’s 3D model viewer. Just click the “view in 3D” button at the top. View them using the Java option to see the animation of the lenses and gears on these!

However you were probably more interested in these Engineering gems…

Engineering Blue Posts
- Engineering is still being designed, but expect new unpredictable gadgets to use on yourself or enemies. Toys, explosives, and even a new vanity pet or two. Oh, and powerful mechanical bows and crossbows in addition to guns.
Warcraft Econ: An exciting change for Engineering with the addition of crafted bows and crossbows. Will all these new items be enough for players to profit even just a little bit better on a profession known for its’ low income generating abilities?
- In general, we want Engineering to remain a tradeskill mainly focused on creating fun or useful gadgets for the engineer, but we are exploring options for items that can be sold to other players for profit.
Warcraft Econ: Although many players argue that this profession is not profitable, some of us have been know to make it work in our favor. Still the majority of Engineer’s aren’t making very much money and Blizzard may add more profitable items to the mix.
