Free Gold in Trade Chat

This may seem like a no brainer to most, but sometimes even the brightest people need reminding. The moment I started crafting Trial of the Crusader bind on on equip patterns I developed a good feel for what those patterns sell for. As I did that i slowly picked up on what other BOE epic pieces went for as well.
Why is this important you ask? Well I don’t know about other servers, but the server I spend all my time on there are plenty of less then intelligent or ignorant people. Some of these people will cash in their badges for orbs, have a friend (or someone else) craft a TOC or ICC pattern and then sell it for way less then what it actually goes for. Their thinking being something along the lines that, hey these orbs are free so I am making “free” gold. Now if these people had a little more patience, maybe re-post it a couple times they could get a full price.
Last weekend I ran into the best example of this I have experienced. I can only guess that this person was an herbalist/scribe and the reason he was selling his Darkmoon Card of Greatness for 2.4k (talked him down to 2k twice and bought a third for 2.4k) was he farmed the mats himself and looked at it as all profit. All of these trinkets sold for 3.5k, 3.9k, and 3.9k. They all sold with in 48hours on the AH. So for about 5 minutes worth of work i made approximately 4300g after AH fees.
A word of caution, I HIGHLY STRESS watching trade chat and searching through the auction house for at least a couple weeks. Paying close attention to anything you might consider buying. Also take into account the generally falling prices of primordial saronite if you are looking at ICC patterns. Some people make the mistake of saying hey Rock Steady Treads is on the AH for 8,500g today so 6k is a good price to pay to try and resell. Just because for 1 day that is up there its not necessarily a good or “normal” price.
Great deals like the Darkmoon Cards I came across are few and far between, around once per week for me, but hey if you could spend 5 minutes a week and make even 1k. I would call that a well spent 5 minutes.
Have a great week, and as always I look forward to your feedback and ideas!
