Cataclysm Prospecting Pyrite Ore

So we finally were able to find [Pyrite Ore] at a good price to do a prospecting test with, although prices of gems have fallen a bit as well. We picked up 22 stacks at ~4300g a stack or 195g a stack.

  • 440 (22 Stacks @ 195g per) [Pyrite Ore]
  • Requires 500 skill

Uncommon Gems – 88

  • 12 blue
  • 17 red
  • 11 orange
  • 18 green
  • 13 yellow
  • 17 purple

Rare Gems – 36

Volatile Earth – 192

Total Cost: ~4300g for 124 gems (34g per gem) + 192 earth

Notes

  • 1.4 gems produced per prospect
  • A guaranteed green gem and one earth, usually 1-3 earth per prospect
  • Can produce 2x greens 2x blues and 3x earth in one prospect
  • 192 volatile earth(depending on prices, these may cover the entire cost of the ore)
  • Doing some quick estimation, this prospect net a 6400g profit or 48.8%
  • If plan on prospecting on a large scale, enable auto-loot and you time it right, you can start the next cast while looting the previous prospect.
