Jewelcrafting

Warcraft Econ: Good news for alchemists with the addition of trinkets for the other classes. If you have been crafting these for disenchanting into maelstrom crystals, you now have other options for picking the one that uses the cheapest mats to make. According to our realms prices, the new flask reagent change makes them 31% cheaper to produce. Watch for the increase of Volatile Life soon. This should make it cheaper for guilds going for the 1000/3000 flask achievement, which unlocks guild cauldrons. The archaeology buff is nice, but most of your time is spent traveling all over the entire world. Check out this Archaeology Guide if you want more information on how to optimize your leveling. The Jewelcrafting meta gem changes and additions are definitely a good thing, we’ll keep you up to date on where the three new recipes drop since they are not bought from the vendor with tokens. A socket for crafted epics may make them a bit more desirable and bump them up on gear lists. We can estimat a +40 stat gem with a +10 stat socket bonus to this gear, increasing the EP values to certain pieces by around 100. This puts them closer to heroic raid gear quality and at least on par with any normal raid loot.

Interesting – a shame about the healer shield enchant though!

What do you suppose the gem slot changes to the epic crafted gear will do to their prices? Might it be worth buying a couple of cheaper pieces now in the hope that the gem adds extra value (always supposing that existing gear is modified, rather than just newly crafted gear).?

It's hard to say what will happen to the prices of crafted epic chest/belts. By the time the patch comes out, BOE gear will fall in price and their demand slightly lower. The obvious conclusion players may come to is that there will be a price increase because of the sockets, but it really depends. A good auctioneer can adapt to changes and command a good price for these. Orbs are still going for around 2k each, and like we said, by patch time, crafter's will have a good amount of orbs stocked up. I see this change going either way, but we believe it will increase demand by a bit as gear lists and EJ forums get updated to reflect these changes. Keep in mind tier 11 chest can be bought with 2200 valor points.

You can try to pick up cheap pieces how, but they would have to be dirty cheap for it to be worth the risk. Some pieces are going for 6-10k right now, a good deal for us would be finding one for less than 4k. But this is highly risky, you are better off finding cheap mats and crafting these for other players on patch day.

At the top of the page you indicate the Heat treated lure will be 20 minutes, and in the engineering section you say 15. Can we get a confirmation on which it is?

    Thanks.
