Patch 4.2 Firelands Preparation: Incoming Crafted Blacksmithing Weapons, Living Ember ilvl378 Recipes, Updated PvP Gear, More PvP Craftables

Ok, well it's not crafted, but still an awesome addition to patch 4.2

Hi there, Warcraft Econ here. It’s been a while since we posted some in depth information due to real life obligations. So to try and make it up to you all, we are going to do a patch 4.2 preparation and analysis article today like we used to do since the Burning Crusade patch 3.0.2. Also if you haven’t heard, you only need to be level 75 to obtain a max level profession. Previously, certain professions required you to level to 84 to access high level recipes. Since patch 4.1, these are available in your local major city.

Update: Manaview is having a limited time sale, 50% off its’ products. Lasts all week!

Crafted ilvl363 Blacksmith Weapons [Full List]

*Enable scripts in your browser if you cannot see Wowhead item links appear when your mouse hovers over the item.

These recipes are found on  1 of 3 Hyjal Daily Quest NPC‘s. You need 150 Mark of the World Tree to unlock each vendor and the items and recipes are purchase with gold. These Blacksmithing patterns can be obtained by unlocking Damek Bloombeard – Additional Armaments.

Notice that the recipe is Bind on Pickup which means it is either a drop from the Firelands raid, vendor, or even just a random drop for Blacksmiths. Remember that there will be a new daily quest zone added in 4.2, so this could also be part of that too. Possibly gated by a token system (Mark of the World Tree) like the Argent Tournament daily hub. The ilevel of 363 puts them below the crafted epics and normal mode tier 12 gear, both which are ilevel 378. These weapons seem to be directed at the non-hardcore raider crowd or alts. They use chaos orbs, hardened elementium bars, and truegold. Let me repeat that… TRUEGOLD. This should bring back some of the demand for the transmute as well. Players who are stockpiling their pyrite may be happy to know that this is another backup plan if their pyrite endeavors fail. Plan B is along the lines of selling off pyrite if prospects don’t contain epic gems in a future patch. There is also no word yet if chaos orbs will be unbound, similar to frozen orbs in Wrath. If they become unbound and end up on the AH, this could mean more opportunity for profits.

Crafted ilvl378 Firelands Recipes [Full List]

These crafted epics covers the Feet and Gloves spot. I see the boots being more popular since gloves are most likely going to drop from a new Baradin Hold PvP boss and they also contribute to a tier bonus (think Ulduar crafted boots when they first came out). Recipes are unknown on whether they will be BOE or BOP, but probably BOP from the Fireland raids. The tailoring items are BOP from the data-mined info, but it is probably a typo. Reagents used to craft these are similar to the current ilvl 359 epics which use chaos orbs or dreamcloth. In addition, the new 4.2 orb, Living Ember is used. Think of these as the new primordial saronite since a set of 25 are also used in the legendary staff questline. Expect these new orbs to be availiable from a vendor as well; a nice way to make some easy gold in the first few weeks.

Updated Crafted PvP Gear [Full List]

We heard about this change on Kaliope’s Crafting Blog first. Current crafted PvP gear is ilevel 339, the 4.2 version bumps that up to 358 which makes them just slightly behind the current non-rated epic Vicious Gladiator items. They also give a 2-piece set bonus of +400 resilience. The reagents use to craft them remain the same. You do not have to buy these new recipes as your spell book will be automatically updated when the patch goes live. So feel free to purchase them now and if you’re a Leatherworker do it while leather prices are low compared to what may happen to them in the next patch.

PvP Recipes for Jewelcrafting [Full List]

ilevel 358 PvP Necks and Rings have been added to Jewelcrafting. Reagents are fairly simple and require significantly less volatiles than the PvE ones. Notice that the pieces are BOP which could be an error, it may change when the patch goes live.

PvP Recipes for Inscription

PvP Recipes for Tailoring

PvP Recipes for Leatherworking

36-Slot Profession Bags

Finally!

These recipes are found on  1 of 3 Hyjal Daily Quest NPC‘s. You need 150 Mark of the World Tree to unlock the vendor and the items and recipes are purchase with gold. These bag patterns can be obtained by unlocking Ayla Shadowstorm – Filling the Moonwell.

Items to Consider for Stockpiling

To stockpile or not to stockpile, that is the question...

We want to emphasize the word “consider” since there are risks to stockpiling items, especially for beginners or even advanced auctioneers. So take it with a grain of salt and analyze your own servers economy, faction, and other variables that will impact your decision to stockpile. This is just a quick list for materials related to crafted items. Use your best judgement for other items such as volatile life for flasks in the next patch. As for epic gems and prospecting pyrite, there is no sign of it so far. We don’t know whether we should recommend stockpiling pyrite or not to our readers. Personally we are hoarding a bit of it, but we also can deal with the losses if we are wrong. The question you should ask yourself is if you have a Plan B or even a Plan C with pyrite and if you can even break even if epic gems don’t come from pyrite.

  • Volatiles of all elements (especially fire/water)
  • Embersilk
  • Dreamcloth
  • Savage Leather
  • Pristine Hide
  • Blackened Dragonscale
  • Truegold
  • Elementium Bar
  • Hardened Elementium Bar
  • Chaos Orb
  • Rare Gems (red, blue, yellow)
  • Inferno Ink

4.2 Daily Quest Hub

A quick note about the new 4.2 daily quest hub from Blizzard:

Known as the Regrowth and Molten Front, these areas will offer an unprecedented amount of daily solo content for level-85 players to enjoy — including over 60 new quests, four “unlockable” iLevel 365 gear vendors, and a world that evolves right before your eyes.

Just keep that in mind while you are thinking about crafting gear for a source of income next patch. Players will have access to ilevel 365 gear off of a vendor. This will affect the demand for the current ilevel 359 epics and possibly the ilevel 363 blacksmith weapons.

Odd that the weapons don't require the new Living Embers mat. I'm assuming either Pyrium Spellward or
Unbreakable Guardian will end up being an ax/mace, since two swords with the same stats makes no sense. Oh well, I guess I should consider getting my rogue in to some PvE stuff so I can get these patterns. Really don't like that PvP focused crafters get shafted in making PvE gear…

I think the weapons aren't supposed to be raid quality like the ilvl378 epics from Firelands so that is why the don't use living embers. The location for these are still unknown and probably won't be from raids.

    • Saitou

The weapons don't require it but the armor does.
I think that's because of the heroic raid gear too.

since their coming out with new weapons and gear they need to make chaos orbs available n the regular cata dungeons so ppl can craft items to use in the heroics dungeons

    • Perkin

      @txmick
I dont understand your concept and your thinking…
y would they make the gmae easier in a way where it takes no effort to get gear… the reason for chaos orbs is to create raid ready gear not to make heroic easier so that should not happen…. i understand casual gamer need the game to be ewasier but whats the fun in a game that is too easy

      • http://www.warcraftecon.net Warcraftecon

So far, according to the PTR files, Chaos Orbs are still BOP. However Blizzard has stated that they will be unbound in a future patch. If anything, they are trying to encourage more players to run heroics, which makes it easier for the casual population maybe.

might want to consider looking over the mats for patterns I see mistake EX lightforeged elementium patter take 30 Vol WAter NOT 5 herdened elementium bars…….
