Prepare for Firelands Daily Quest Recipes to Hit your Server Soon!

Important UpdateThe estimate of the 21st is the accurate assessment of when the patterns and items SHOULD have become available. In reality though, the new crafted items have been up on the auction house since Monday the 18th. There was a bug during the first few days of Patch 4.2. The daily quests were resetting early, then again at 3am normal reset time. What happened is some players exploited this bug and by playing in the early am hours, they were able to get a few days of double daily quests and double marks collected. This led to them getting a giant headstart against the non bug exploiters. Blizzard hotfixed the daily quest resetting issue, but did nothing to the bug exploiters. Blizzard should have rolled back their Marks of the World Tree to make it fair to us non-cheaters, but they didn’t. (Thanks to Cold for bringing this up in the comments.)

Some servers may not be affected by this so check your auction house to see if any of these new items have showed up yet, you might still be able to be one of the firsts to sell these new items.

Recipes will be hitting your server!

We’ve got a run down of all the new crafted items patch 4.2 brought us for you guys to drool over.  Some of the most talked about and most anticipated items in that lot were the 8 new crafted BoE items.  These items are item level 363 and are going to be must haves for raiders and casual players alike.  Trust me, I’m buying a nice set of weapons for my warrior.  But I digress.  Anyway, the point of today’s post is that you if you’re not prepared, you need to get that way!  In a recent discussion on the Auction House Junkies podcast we talked about the importance of items like hardened elementium bars and truegold.  A lot of players heeded the stockpile warning and stocked up on these items.  However, they were a little confused about the release date of the crafted epics.  As discussed in the items preview post, you  have to work your way through the new Hyjal daily quests.  According the best calculations I could find and other resources, it looks like the perspective date on these items going live on realms is going to be as early as July 21st.  That’s tomorrow if you’re reading this on post day.

What does this mean?

Well, it means a few different things.  First off, this is a perspective date.  These new patterns, and not just Blacksmithing patterns, will be hitting your server if and only if a player has completed the necessary steps involved in obtaining them.  The the first player to have those patterns, however, will be entitled to a hefty reward on the open market.  So kudos to you, Mr. Dedicated.  With that said, you need to start preparing if you want to make some profit off of these.  Look for new crafted items to go for double, if not triple what they will end up going for in a few weeks.  Do not invest in these and attempt to flip them.  It’s going to be super high risk, and my guess is, low reward.  Make them if you have the recipe, otherwise stay far away unless you’re buying them to use yourself.

Check out material prices on your server.  Truegold on my server has spiked already in preparation.  Buy up a little bit if you’re not stockpiled, but don’t get crazy.  This is a medium risk investment.  The number of transmutes will pick up in the economy once demand increases.  So that means the surge and high prices will be short lived.  Get in quickly, but get out with the same urgency.  Don’t get caught riding a down slope.

Thinking Outside the Box

This may be a great time for you to start thinking about going back to some old ways of profit.  Hardened Elementium Bars are a great example.  It may once again be decently profitable to do a little mining.  With ore for the most part drying up on most servers.  Due to either a kill off of farming bots, or just the decrease in raw gem prices.  Which ever case it may be, if Ore isn’t readily available it may be a great time to pick some of that up, make some bars, and list them in stack sizes according to the items that can be crafted.  This could net you a hefty profit with very little work involved.

Good luck guys!  Let us know how things go on your server!

Never realized that I used a bug exploit (my apologies Blizzard, but your fault to begin with) but my BS unlocked (and bought) all these patterns this morning. Seems I am the only BS listing two items on AH. Truegold inflated over 850-1200g but is rapidly falling due to people flooding the market. My major concern now is at which price should I expect people to pay for them. Over the past week other BoE Fireland epics (weapons) have ranged from 40-60k. Staff/Polearm being on the higher end. I decided my best bet would be crafting the "Lightforged Elementium Hammer" and "Masterwork Elementium Spellblade" as those two items are in demand for a larger class market. What do you think I should start the buyouts around or expect prices to be paid for them?

I think your estimate is off a little. I didn't take advantage of double resets, and I unlocked the recipes yesterday (the 19th) on a US server, which puts them as available on the 20th for EU. I have yet to find a writeup that forcast how many marks you got in each phase that matched my experience.
