Uh oh, no thread about today’s release of 3.2.2! I’ll start it off, and do some retrospection of what people should have done (and what I didn’t do) to make lots of gold.

I for one have been awaiting this patch for the Crusader Orbs so I could finally gear out my alts in some nice pieces of gear and update the junk they’ve been wearing since all those Naxx 10/25 pugs a while ago. After buying them onesy twosy from guilds and people that got lucky in a pug for the past month, these became available today for 15 Triumph badges. On my server/faction, these quickly plummeted in price once servers came up and then started scooting back up. For about a month they sold at 3k per, and today I snapped up 28 of them by spamming trade for 1k per and I didn’t pay one copper more. The AH prices remained higher throughout the day ranging from 1500 to 4k, but I found the motivated sellers (some in my own guild actually).

I got lots of LOLs and NOOB comments whispered to me, but I’m 4 orbs short of being able to achieve my goal of finishing the 2 pieces of gear for 4 alts whereas the average person can’t even get their bracers made for their main. Motivated sellers are going to be the key with these, especially when you are looking to profit from the resale of them. Put yourself in their place. To me, 1000g is about 1-2 hours work in the AH. For the casual player, 1000g represents 7-10 days of dailies that cost about 7-10 hours of their time. And realistically, 15 badges are acquired in less than one hour’s time in ToC pugs, or 7-10 hours by running the daily heroic for 8 days. When you look at 1000g like the casual player does, this large payday can be very attractive, especially since casuals HATE posting in the AH because they lack the knowledge to do it right.

I could resell for 50-150% profit, but like I said, I value the gear more. I did hear reports that across the pond in the Horde AH they were going for 500g-1000g.

Now for the big problem – Arctic Furs and all materials associated with these recipes skyrocketed today. I personally saw prices triple and quadruple. I predict a week before they settle back down because everyone will have blown through all of their badges by then and there won’t be buyers to make the pieces. I could be wrong, I was wrong about Titanium buyers and that market has stayed pretty firm at 270-300g per stack – almost 45 days later!

What people should have done – purchase the raw materials last week or the weeks before in anticipation of a severe price spike on the raw materials.

Leatherworking got their drums today. Heavy Borean Leather was like hen’s teeth in the AH as were the scales. I predict this to be high for a while, as this will be a necessary item for all LWs that are running 10 mans and 5 mans that lack buffs. It’s not like you need to have these buffs, but it is definitely nice when you have 2 priests and a shaman healing, and no druid or paladin in sight. I like quick and easier runs and I like Kings to be active.

Glyph sales were again huge, I heard reports from friends on this because I got out of the business. With any patch, people go nuts on these.

Gem sales remained the same for the most part, the typical person looks to be going Epic for the fall season so beg, borrow, steal to get these posted at the best available price.
