Patch 3.3 Preparation Part II

Posted by Warcraftecon | November 10, 2009 .

Portable Hole

Finally a new official gold sink in patch 3.3, in the form of a new 24-slot bag sold by Haris Pilton. This is only 2 extra slots in comparison to [Glacial Bag].

Breanni

More mini-pets are added to the Breanni NPC in Dalaran.

Arctic Fur

[Arctic Fur]can now be purchased from Braeg Stoutbeard in Dalaran for 10x [Heavy Borean Leather]. This will tie both prices together as in 40g for furs will mean leather will go for 4g each. However what will most likely happen is that prices for [Heavy Borean Leather] will increase.

Boubouille from MMO-Champion.com says:

This will probably be enough to rise the price of the leather to a point where people won’t be able to buy it from the AH and craft items to sell them back to NPCs for a profit.

Patch 3.3 Patterns

Full list of ilvl 264 epic patterns, most likely obtained from the new Icecrown Raid instance.

ilvl 251 Rings

Four new ilevel 251 Kirin Tor Rings have been added.

Now a question for the readers; What type of official gold sink would you like to be added to the game and how much gold/currency would it cost?

    Better unique Titles!
Pets are fine, but I can only show one at the same time. Same goes for mounts and well most mount drops are better than buyable ones.

24 slot bags… finally! it’s not 2 extra slots, it’s EIGHT when you have all four in your inventory slots. Doesn’t seem like alot? It does when you carry around too much junk. Especially on druids where you are limited in space in a raid due to offspecs.

I’m genuinely happy about this artic fur thing, because farming for them is awful and on my server the prices go from 50-500g, depending on the day, time of year, weather outside, and who knows what else.

I’ve always said – the 100k mount. 310 flying speed, looks original (not some recoloring), and for good measure instant cast. This would definitely be something for only very few people and a complete status symbol.

I’d like to see either a bicycle or a pony and cart to carry people.

Now that you will be able to fly in old Azeroth in Cataclysm, how about a passenger flying mount to transport lower level players around :)

“Multi-passenger flying mounts could be added in the future. They might also allow crafters to craft 310% flying mounts if they already completed an achievement rewarding one.” ( http://www.warcraftecon.net/?p=1648)

Those are probably already in the works for the next expansion, Cataclysm. I would like the price to be at least 150k, but it will most likely be less than 100k. Going by previous gold sinks in relation to each expansion, the highest priced ones are usually 3-5 times the previous expansion. So 3-5 times the 20k mammoth will be 60-100k price range of the next expansions top gold sink.

Multi-passenger flying mounts is an obvious money sink. I also suspect that Cataclysm might create a situation where Guild Leveling along certain branches can be a money sink. Make the GM of the guild buy some of the abilities as “scroll of Guild Ability” off a vendor.

Well more than likely with flying being accessible in Azeroth, it would only make sense that they allow for multi passenger mounts so you can cart the new characters around. Please price these at 100k though with no faction discount, I want to see some SERIOUS screaming and whining instead of the usual “oh it’s a waste of gold”. It’s funny, even casually (10-15 mins a day) I’m pulling in 1k doing not so much. I’m just gearing up the gold for Cataclysm at this point because in reality, Cataclysm will be out within the year.

No gold sink. I still haven’t got the first Haris bag (i would need something like a million in gold to out all alts)
