Interview Submissions
![]()
- Send your screenshots/interview and proof of gold cap through email for privacy reasons.
- Many players have started using Addon: MySales as well to prove where their income sources are from
- Subject of the email should contain your toon name, server-US/EU (ex. Hall of Fame Submission – Bob of Deathwing-US)
- Must show character name on a live server and “at gold limit” message if gold capped.
- If submitting proof of 2 million gold, you must show also “the guild bank is at gold limit” message at the same time.
- Please type out the interview and attach it in the email. (MS Word, Google Docs, OpenOffice, ect.)
- Please spell/grammar check before you submit. Avoid using smileys, “LOL”, and other leet speak. Keep it professional.
- Be more in-depth, open, and transparent about your gold making strategies. We want the process and thoughts behind it. Even better, any original methods or ideas you have. Big picture concepts and economic theories are also good.
- Keep your audience in mind, the majority of our readers are not gold capped although some of them are.
- You are allowed to link to your own blog, site, and social media. Just don’t over do it or use affiliate links.
- If possible, avoid formatting and just type in plain text to make it easier for us to turn it into HTML.
- Try to copy/paste the questions into a word processor to keep the formatting.

Interview Questions
Read: Readers have been complaining about short interviews, especially for the 1 and 2 million gold ones. As a reminder… please answer ALL questions with more than just one sentence, at least a paragraph. Well written ones usually contain 2000-4000 words, but content is more important than word count. Also edit out the notes in brackets that appear after the questions.
Please tell us a little about yourself and your gaming experience. (Character name, EU/US server, or inform us of a screen name if you wish to remain anonymous)
Do you raid or PvP? How do you enjoy the game?
What motivated you to collect this amount of gold?
How did you learn to do it?
Is there anyone, hall of fame interview, or resource you would like to thank that contributed to your success? (Twitter, website, social media links are ok to use here)
What were some of your early mistakes? How would you do things differently if you had to go back and redo them?
How did you go about getting to this gold amount? Any creative or original ideas? (Separate this part into categories such as professions, other income, ect. The more in-depth, the better. This is the main part of your interview)
What is your master list? (Use BeanCounter or any data if applicable. A master list contains items that you consistently sell)
What items are on your shopping list?
What addons, if any, do you use to help you make gold and why are they needed?
Are you still going for more gold? If so, do you have a new goal? Are you close?
Do many people know you have this amount of gold?
Did you spend your gold on fun things? What have you bought? What things would you like to buy? (Feel free to suggest a new gold sink)
If you were the professor of a gold making 101 college class, what would be some things you would talk about?
How about an advanced gold making class?
Do you have any good farming strategies or spots? If you don’t farm, please suggest something to farm if you had to pick the best items and locations.
What are your future plans with WoW?
What are you predictions for the future WoW economy? (Anything for upcoming patches and/or the general future of the economy)
(Optional Question) Please tell us a little bit about how you handle your real life finances. What are the differences and similarities with how you do things in WoW?
(Optional Question) What your favorite artists, songs, movies, shows, or streams to watch while you are making gold?
(Optional Question if you plan on play Diablo 3) What are your thoughts on the real money auction house that will be implemented in Diablo 3? How will you take advantage of this new change?
Thank you for taking the time to do this interview for Warcraft Econ. Do you have any last words?
After the interview
Once you are done with the interview, spell/grammar check it. Also pick out a short quote to be placed at the top of the interview to get readers interested in what you have to say.
Remember to edit out the notes in brackets. We respect your privacy and will not publish your email, screenshot, and other information aside from the name/screen name/server you use in the first question. Also feel free to include a high-res screenshot of anything you want such as your bank alt, main toon, or something related to making gold.
2 Million Gold Submission Questions
These are additional questions you need to answer. If you already did an interview with the above questions for a lower amount of gold, please answer the ones below as you submit your 2 million gold hall of fame request. Answer with gold making theory and the how and why you do things instead of just what you sell. These must be in-depth and contain a good word count.
How did you go from one to two million gold?
Why did you do the things you did between one and two million?
What are your most profitable markets that represent a large percentage of your net profits and why?
What is the best advice you can give to other players?
